Student Housing on Campus: THE HIVE
Please remember that Earthships are a relatively new concept, and student housing is an example of each experiment along the way.
Student housing building is older and imperfect, but an excellent opportunity for individuals to understand design considerations. Troubleshooting and an open mind are required to learn this unique way of living. Our staff is always happy to address concerns and teach you about our unique systems.
Each room rental requires a $100 refundable cleaning deposit. Cleaning deposits are returned 1-3 weeks after check-out, pending the cleanliness of the room. Cleaning deposits are returned via Venmo, Paypal, or a check in the mail.
The HIVE is a 8 bedrooms off-grid, 2 story house.
Shared full kitchen & common areas, 5 bathrooms, Wifi.
Located in the Greater World Earthship Community.
- The single room is $ 200 USD per week
- The double room with private bathroom is $ 300 USD per week.
Kitchen: The Hive kitchen includes a shared DC refrigerator, propane stove/oven, and sink. The off-grid power system does not support a microwave, coffee maker, rice cooker, slow cooker, hair dryer etc.
Please consider our greywater systems. Antibacterial soaps and bleach are prohibited as it destroys the beneficial bacteria of our planters. Please use biodegradable soaps/shower products with minimal chemicals.
ALTERNATIVE HOUSING OPTIONS: NIGHTLY RENTALS
Our Earthships rentals are also all located at the world’s most significant sustainable community, the Greater World Community, where the campus is located.
Earthship nightly rentals offer a luxurious off grid experience. Being self-sufficient does not mean reducing one’s quality of life. The Earthship rental homes are equipped with all amenities that conventional housing provides.
