Hi, I live in Sweden (not Switzerland) which is rather cold country. As I've understood, the earthship takes advantage of the earth's constant temperature (58 F) a bit under it's surface, making it quite easy to warm up/cool down. But how deep will you have to dig? Here in Sweden the ground freezes

Nice! A little update from todays work... I've been to the site to build a garden frame and to bark(?) some trees. Tomorrow I'll finish the job with the garden frame and plant some lettuce so that we people comming in June will have something to eat. Other than that we are about to buy in foo

Hi. I live in Dillingham. The two Earthships I was referring to where in Naknek and Sweden. In my opinion one major design factor to keep in mind is that the concept of thermal mass is not nearly as relevant or beneficial in Alaska as it would be in a more moderate southern climate. For example,
