The Mission.

To build stronger, more resilient and economic structures in a place where natural disasters are likely to strike again, and to give people the power and education to build/help themselves and the ability to help others. 
 
To provide an off-grid alternative that is far less risky and less dangerous should future disasters occur. 
 
To feed the hunger for change and provide alternatives to those in need. 

To Joplin, Missouri.

* Due to our internship program, we have attracted people from all over the country and world that are interested in using Earthship concepts and applying them at home.  We have had interns from Joplin in attendance and have received correspondence from the Joplin area specifically requesting our presence during the reconstruction of Joplin, as they are excited and ready for change and a new beginning, and they believe that our construction technology will WORK. 

 
* We are interested in the reconstruction of Joplin because we understand how expensive and time consuming it is to rebuild for those in need and believe we can use recyclable materials and even rubble from the destruction in order to safely, quickly, and effectively provide alternative housing that is more resilient, off-grid and less dangerous, and because we believe we have the education and knowledge to succeed.  Greensburg, KS was a great example of re-birth, and we are interested in giving back to the Joplin community by guiding them in a new direction. 

 
* This is a great opportunity for us to bring people into the community to help – We would like to host a 2-month Academy that would fund and pay for reconstruction costs and at the same time provide anyone who would like to learn with the skills necessary to be able to build themselves an, off-grid, sustainable home.  In addition, Joplin would be able to model itself as a good example and would gain exposure and attention, possibly more support.
