You know the drill. Join Earthship Academy Student, Rachi Goldlust as they continue on the final stages of building a tyre retaining wall at CERES Environmental park in Brunswick East this Saturday 10th March 11:00am until 2:30pm. Learn the basics of tyre pounding construction, the unique component of Michael Reynolds inspiring Earthship buildings.
Using today’s waste for the building of tomorrow!
Earthship Australia is working on a three step process at CERES…
Step 1. Tyre retaining wall (giving us lots of pounding practice!)
Step 2. Chookship (Earthship-inspired chook shed) with bottle walls
(we’re now consulting with CERES and local council)
Step 3. Two Bedroom Global Model Earthship
We will be working on our Earthship inspired retaining wall project from 11:00 am this Saturday with a lunch break if you want to bring
something along to share, otherwise there is the CERES cafe or organic markets!
Please bring any of this you can:
* comfy working gloves (although we have some extra pairs)
* steelcap boots if you have them, otherwise as sturdy as you have
* workwear clothes that can get down and dirty in! Something warm and
weatherproof in case we get wind and rain and you don’t want to stop!
And sun protection too, you never know in melbourne!
(We have extra shovels and sledges also)
All Welcome! Look forward to seeing you there!
