In October 2013, Earthship Biotecture went to Malawi, Africa, to start building a Community Center for a remote village, providing essencial needs such as solar power, water, and space for a bank, a women's shelter, etc. Unfortunately the building was not finished, causing a lack of water for the community in Malawi's dry season.
In January 2015, the Earthship crew wants to go back to ensure that this building gets finished as soon as possible, so it can provide what the community needs.
In order for this to happen, we need to raise $60,000 for material and transportation costs, and we need 40 volunteers to join us on this adventure to help build the Community Center.
Please visit Biotecture Planet Earth (http://www.biotectureplanetearth.com/projects/malawi-africa) – Earthship Biotecture's registered non-profit organization – to sign up as a volunteer or to donate money towards this cause.
Biotecture Planet Earth has also launched a special fundraising campaign for the holidays on indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/biotecture-planet-earth/x/8735107). If you are looking for a special gift for a special person, you can donate towards an essential component for this project, making this a gift for someone else.
Please help us share and support this cause so we are able to bring enough water and power for everyone to this community. We would not be able to do these projects without you.
The local community is now busy completing all the tire work for the building before the next hit and in January 2015 an Earthship crew plus 40 volunteers will return to Kapita to continue finishing the building.
The fee to participate in the Malawi build will be $1,000 USD and this money will entirely go to cover the costs of production and materials. We are also fundraising and need as much help as possible in order to be able to finish the building and give Kapita its own community center, providing elements that are vital to the community´s existence.
